Education Staying Cool In The Summer

Now that the hot summer days seem to be beginning, we all are looking for ways to cool off. It is nice to get outside and enjoy the weather instead of lounging around all day in your air conditioned home. One great way to do this is to get a gazebo. What makes this so great is that it is a wonderful shaded location to sit under and drink a cool ice tea.

If Ice tea doesn’t suit you, you might enjoy an adult beverage instead. Having a blender and a set of freezable pints to keep your slushy drinks cool is a great way to chill in the hot weather. Of course those drinks don’t have to be alcoholic, as kids love slushies also. There are wide ranges of fruit based drinks that can be great for your kids too. There is a wide range of syrups you can get, from fruity flavors to bubble gum. You can increase your variety of flavors by using coffee syrups as well.

If you are interested in another cool treat you could consider making your own ice cream. With the correct equipment it is quite easy to make ice cream. You can make ice cream by hand (which is fun for the kids) using rock salt, ice, and freezer bags, or you can purchase an ice cream maker. There are a number of great ice cream makers out there along with a great number of recipes. An outstanding book of recipes is Ben and Jerrys Ice Cream and Dessert book.

It will also inspire you to try to create your own flavors.

Sliced up fruit, which can be frozen, is another wonderful idea. Grapes and watermelon both are wonderful frozen. The sweet flavors and cool temperatures will make it a kid favorite. Trying some of these great tips can help to keep your summer nice and cool.
